Initial ideas for the main project.

Before my project sign-off, I am supposed to blog a post on the initial idea of a project idea that I would like to for the main project. This will help my tutor know how well I understand the project. For my main project, I will be doing a photography project with a city and urban photography theme.

James Maher is one of the photographers that inspired me to this kind of photography. I visited his page and got good images and tips and techniques that I found to be helpful to me during this project.

There are tips and techniques used for this kind of photography including when to shoot, how to shoot, and what setting to use. A good city photographer should love to walk and explore to get better shots. Therefore it is advisable to use a lighter camera for easy movement. Mirrorless cameras are best for this kind of photography as the quality of the images is incredible. According to Maher (no date) "The cameras with interchangeable lenses on the list, such as the Fuji X-T line, the Sony A7 line, the Canon RP line, or the Nikon Z line will be fantastic for city photography and a pleasure to carry around." Maher suggests that there is no need to use lenses that are wider than 24mm and longer than 105mm.

COMPOSITION AND LIGHT

The composition should be kept basic in mind considering the rule of thirds, natural frames, and leading lines. Before shooting always take different viewpoints by looking around to get different shots. The quality and the angle of light is very important in photography (Callan, no date)
