Test shots

I started by researching  Andrew Prokos' white and black photography. His Ultra-high-definition black and white photos are known for their sharpness and clarity.

In his photography work, Andrew Prokos focuses on design to capture the wonders of the urban atmosphere and its typically underappreciated intricacies. In his cityscapes, Prokos’s pictures lengthen the sense of marvel associated with degreed detail in an urban skyline. In his subject area pictures, that he's best famous, he captures the customarily unnoticed aspects of contemporary and style of architecture. Prokos uses each medium- and large-format camera, typically using long exposures to capture wealthy details and imbue a way of motion. His work feels modern. He follows an extended lineage of photographers who launched to capture urban landscapes and design, together with Berenice Abbott and Weston. Although his photography work focuses on urban settings, Prokos remembers the methodology of the good nature creative person Ansel Adams.

Andrew shoots his images during various times of the day such as morning time, sunset, and nighttime.

I took the following images during a sunny day considering light and the setting in the manual camera, mono-color effect (black and white) since as stated in the previous post I was going to use a downloaded manual camera in my phone. I used a low-angle shot for the best final image of the building.

Setting: F2.0, 1/50 s, 4.60mm, ISO 38

I took the same shot with the same settings of the camera but this one I made a long low angle I wanted to capture more details towards the base of the building and also I reduced the black shades on the image and this was the outcome.

Setting: F2.O, 1/50 s, 4.60mm, ISO 38

The second shot is more successful in that it captures even the base of the building and some of its surroundings enhancing its appearance. I like the fact that the black shades are minimal on the image.

I will add the contact sheet of the images related to the building with the different settings and camera techniques once I manage to create since for now am having issues in creating one.

TEST SHOT 2

The previous shot was not perfect as the sky was white/grey. So I took other shots to improve on this. The shots were shot on a cloudy evening;

setting: F2.2, 1/437 s, 1.42mm ISO 40

Commentary- felt like this was an improvement since the sky is visible as it is not as white as the first shot.

setting: F2.2, 1/396 s, 4.60mm, ISO 20

setting: F2.0, 1/572 s, 4.60mm, ISO 20

  1. Your problem here is the sky which is white/grey so the church does not stand out properly against the sky and two thirds of this image is white. You need to add your contact sheets so that all the originals can be seen in this process - you need to practice more and you need research on photography techniques
