Describe your major project objective using the SMART acronym

I will create a photographic project which will be a collection of between 6-10 images. I will be using the concept of architectural photography inspired by Michael Wolf. I will download an app to improve and develop my understanding of manual photography techniques. I will frame and compose my images in-camera. These will be in black and white and will quality check in Lightroom or Photoshop. 

 

Why have you chosen to do this project?

Because I am interested in photography and I would like to learn more techniques in photography and because it is a field under media and communication of which maybe I would consider to do it in detail after the foundation year.

 

Who are you researching for this project? Please list at least three media producers, authors, musicians, photographers etc.

What do you expect the final outcome of the project to be?

series of 6-8 images of architectural photographs that will be in black and white. These will then be uploaded on the portfolio page on my website with a conceptual introduction

What do you think will be the issues/drawbacks to the project?

 

I may not get the perfect view of the point to capture buildings due to lack of access to the buildings and network from people.

 

 

What is your timescale considering that this has to be completed by Week 10?

Week Three: blogging on project sign off and project plan

 

 

Week Four: research on the photographers' work-  Micheal wolf, Andrew Proko, etc

 

 

Week Five: trying shots with different ISO

 

 

Week Six: test shots and blogging the outcomes

 

 

Week Seven: improving the shots from the previous ones

 

 

Week Eight: working on the website

 

 

Week Nine: finalizing the blog and making sure everything works 

 

What resources or materials will you need for this project?

Mobile phone

 

Manual camera app from play store


editing apps - either lightroom or photoshop

 

Draw a picture/Write a sentence/sketch a story/write a dialogue that captures the essence of your project

    This is incomplete - you have not completed a detailed plan on your timescale which you needed. Also using a mobile phone should not be a drawback - you can use this to your advantage - you need to research a lot harder and understand your subject area and you need a proper plan here

Research on photographers using sketchbooks or journals.

For our self study this week we were asked to research designers, filmmakers, photographers or writers who are using sketchbooks or journals in our subject area. Since my subject area is on photography I am going to do a research on photographers, look at their work and analyse their working process and also discuss what I have learnt from this research. Below are example of photographers i have been looking at their work; 1.Eric Kim Source;   Eric Kim image Eric Kim is a street photographer currently based in Los Angeles. He was born in 1988 in United State.
