Creating a website.

A website is a set of web pages typically related to one person or organisation.The purpose of a website is to turn visitors into prospects, way to do this is to identify the major user types visiting your site, speak to their needs and give them a clear action step to take next.

In this post i am going to explain how i created my own website.My website have four pages; a home page, about me page or bio, portfolio page and contact page.

RESEARCH.

Before i created my own website i had to do a research on how to create one and also visited peoples website that was under photography as i was planning to create a photography website.

STEPS:

First, i logged into wix.com and signed using my google account.Since my website is to be about photography i chose photography.

After choosing photography i went on to choose a template.

After viewing and exploring different templates under photography i decided to choose one that was easy for me to use that is photography studio and clicked on edit.

I began by deleting pages that i do not need in my website by clicking at Menus and Pages on the left side of the screen and selected the ones that I was going to delete. 

After deleting the unwanted pages, i edited the home page and gave it a title that suited my website and here is the result.

After that i decide to change the first column background and put my own portrait image and later removed 'PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT" from the first column to the second column.The second column i used an image from the wix images for free.

After i was done with the home page i went next to portfolio page.In this page i will present my work for the project in terms of gallery.So far i have not done enough with my photography project but with time a will have a series of 6-8 images for my portfolio page.I clicked at manage media to add my own image instead.

I went next to about me page.I deleted the paragraph that was there and i introduced myself, and added a professional photo of myself.

Finally i went to my contact page.Since i do not have a professional social account for my contact page i will only add my blog link account.This is how i did it;

1.I clicked at the ADD feature and chose social to add the social bar.

2.I removed the socail bar that did not need.

3.I clicked at ADD ICON  to add the social bar that i needed to add for my website.

4.I chose the blogger icon

5. Next i was going to add the link for my blog i copied th blog link and copied it

After i was done with editing the site and adding my work, i previewed the site to see if it looked appealing and easy to navigate and then published the site.
